Scoutmaster needs advice on the Boulders
#1
I need some insight and knowledge about the Boulders Region of the Aquarius Plateau. I'm a fairly experienced fisherman/outdoorsman, but I've never been down to the Boulders. I've spent most of my summers in the Uintas.

I'm currently a scoutmaster with a group of extremely inexperienced 12 year olds. Our plan for camp WAS we were going to drive up to Washington Lake in the Uintas and Canoe across to the back side of the lake, away from the organized campgrounds. This way the boys could kind of "rough it" without being far from the vehicles...

However, with the current snowpack in the Uintas, we will not be able to get there when we had scheduled (June 22-25). So, I turn to you, a complete stranger, for assistance. [Smile] Can you point me in the direction of an area/lake where my boys could have a positive experience camping, where we have decent fishing available, maybe even where we can use our canoes? We'd also toyed with the idea of doing a one night backpack in to a lake a little deeper in the Uintas, just so the boys could experience their first backpacking trip.

Any advice or expertise would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,

Bart
