to know that this incident could have easily been prevented if they slowed down and thought about what was going on. Why they all abandoned ship without anchoring? We will never know. Here are some snippets from a news story last year.

About 15 people drown at Lake Mead every summer. Park officials said life jackets could have prevented most of those deaths.
