Geez guys I didn't mean to throw the cat on the dog with my original post. Just wanted to know from someone more in-the-know than myself if all the concern about the big macks was justified in view of the reported abundance of pups waiting in line to become big fish. Didn't mean to get people all riled up about the issue.
I liked Wyomoose's comments about replica mounts. A quick photo and a couple of measurements and he's on the wall and in the water.I did have to take exception to Wyo.s comment about the big fish "being easy to catch and vulnerable at times." He needed to qualify this statement with a "when you know what you are doing." I have never found them to be vulnerable to my feeble offerings.[
]
Also liked Capt. Jim's comment about better technology in use by more knowledgeable fishermen fishing more often.
I support catch and release of these fish and I appreciate the comments offered. Now let there be peace among us and upon the waters..
