I've seen cars on the opposite shoreline where I always go to Government Wash so perhaps there are other roads.
I take the main turn off marked "Goverrnment Wash-Launch Closed" where you drive on an asphalt road until you reach the old launch area with restrooms. If you continue to the right on the dirt road it will lead you to the water's edge. The dirt road itself is better maintained so its not as bad as Crawdad or Boxcar Cove roads.
Stay on the main road until you reach a fork where there is an upgrade (which is a deadend).Go to the left and follow the road until you get near the end. I like to launch to the left area which is a short downhill drive. Its not too bad and I can get my Ford Focus to the shore. Beware that it gets really crowded this time of year with boats and jetskis. Best to get there before sunrise to find a place on the shore.
If you are walking then park at the top and pick an area to follow the shoreline. I launch a kayak so I'm not familar with the paths along the shore.
You will have to explore to find other areas to park. I know I've seen cars parked by the end of the cove on the northwest side. I never had the desire to find other parking areas since I fish from a kayak.
