You dont need no stinkin' downriggers at willard. it isnt that deep.... and wipers are in the mid'depth. You can longline rattletraps or attach the line to the planer boards and keep it to the side of the boat because wipers tend to move to the side of the boat keep a tight line on your planer and watch it dip about 30 ft off to the side of your boat.
If that doesnt work, you can use bottom bouncers with certain colored spinner and crawler harness, youll get into both walleyes and wipers that way. just keep your line tight and feel it tickin' as you slow the boat to 0.5 mph. Good luck marathon man!
