light line vs. heavy line
#51
oh no , you get right up on that soap box ![cool]

i have always liked and used the mono , i just see an advantage to using the firewire in certin surcumstances .

my coustom rod will get the mono , it's designed for it . the wire would destroy the guides and the strength would shatter the rod during a fight . that rod cost too much to risk it .

as leader material the wire will take whatever abuse it is given , a lot more flexible than a conventional steel leader or a tipet and a lot lighter too . pretty cost efective there .

for the ugly stick thou , it's an easy blank to rebuild , great for the muskey , pike and suckers , cats and carp outta the weeds . it can take the abuse .

as for kids , never in a million years ! it is an unforgiving material and it holds no concience as to who it will hurt or mame .

you stay right up on that soapbox pal , every tool has it's purpose , but it has to be used correctley . ya never know how many people may see this debate on the stuff , you could be influincing sombodys decision on wether or not to use the stuff , maybe save someones hand or fingers as well [Wink] .
