Jefstod- I wish I had seen your post before we left. The flies weren't terrible, but they were annoying!
We battled the wind most of the day yesterday. My wife just got a fly rod of her own recently so we tried our luck with dries, nymphs and small streamers. My wife caught a few tiny fish on dries but stuck with it because she enjoys throwing dries more than the alternative. I landed several on chironomids dropped off an indicator. I also tried throwing wolly buggers but didn't get a thing on them.
Worms appear to be the way to go on Paul. The rest of our family was fishing them just off the bottom and they caught fish all day! 10 minutes wouldn't pass and they'd have another one on. They were out in a canoe right in the middle of the reservoir and had the most luck there.
Hope that helps if any of you are thinking of heading that way.
