Southern California Saltwater

Report for September 18, 2003 (Thursday)

Way Up North- Avila and Monterey
Chris's always seems to have a boat going out and catching the albies. Otherwise it rockfish.

Up North- Channel Island
Rockfish, Red Snapper City plus the usual shallow water rockfish.

LA Area- Catalina Island
Calico Bite picked up but the Yellows are few and far between. Plenty of room of the boats Hummmmm I wonder why?

Further South- San Clemente
Condtions at Clemente are terrible and have been so with water clarity and temperature like NOT!

San Diego- Local and Offshore
Outstanding Offshore fishing for 5 species is so good that it completely overshadows the local scene which is generally dismal as is the angler numbers on the local boats.

LA Local
Like shallow water rockfishing fishing? If so, you're in business with Sculpin, a few Lings, Red Snappers and White Fish being the majority of the catch. Scratching on the Sand Bass and Barracuda.
