Southern California Saltwater Report 9/18-24
#2

Southern California Saltwater

Report for September 19, 2003 (Friday)

Today the big news is the increase in the Yellowfin Tuna counts going way way up. Albies and skipjack numbers good too!

Way Up North- Avila and Monterey
A good number of boats got the albies today. Chris's did pretty well as usual.

Up North- Channel Island
Those Red Snappers are saving the day.

LA Area- Catalina Island
Not much going on in the way of Yellowtail. Decent bite on Calicos.

Further South- San Clemente
Slow very very slow

San Diego- Local and Offshore
Offshore is very, very good with the local catches good on boats off the kelp but it's really hit and miss with a lot of travel time.

LA Local
Quite a few Rockfish, Red Snapper, Whitefish and vairous fish like the yellowfin croaker, ect. are being caught. Number of anglers is like some kind of joke. Boats taking 8, 9 15 anglers and that's it.
