Southern California Saltwater Report 9/18-24
#5

Southern California Saltwater

Report for September 22, 2003

Virg's and Patriot's boats doing well on the Albies. 11 anglers got 120 Albies and the Pacific Horizon getting 100+ Albies, 12 Skippies, and 1 Bluefin Tuna.

Way Up North- Avila and Monterey
A few albies and rockfish were caught but the anglers numbers reflect blue Monday. Mix of various species.

Up North- Channel Island
Great Albie fishing! A couple of boats had anglers in the teens catching 100+ albies. Mix of other fish caught also.

LA Area- Catalina Island
Terrible fishing on whatever species.

Further South- San Clemente
No better than Catalina

San Diego- Local and Offshore
Offshore is pretty slow right now but the bright side is that some local boats are picking up a nice mix of fish including yellowtail, barracuda, etc.

LA Local
If you think Catalina is lousy just hop on a typical 1/2 local boat with less than 10 guys and have a ball catching near ziltch! Sculpin and Red Snappers to the lucky few.
