Get a butterfly net . Then you don't have too bend your knees much . I also have bad knees and the net is the only way to go to catch grasshoppers . There legs get caught in the netting and you just pluck them out . Put them in a plactic water bottle with holes in it for air . When you want one just take the lid off and when they crawl out the opening , stick um on a hook . Curt G.
