TD that is what I do with mine too. That way cost me a few kitty's I was tagging this spring when the bottom came un done. When I pull them like that the boat stays straight but it still drags it down. I lift the basket with a foot to make it easier on the battery.
I did notice that on the videos I have seen from NFO the foot bars do seem to be a bit short making the knees bend almost into the way of the oars.
Foot rests that are attached like the Gigbob craft might be a better way than a bar that goes across. It seems that no matter the boat a guy always needs to make some changes to make it work for him. Ron
