I don't really know if you could put a 27 battery behind the seat. I can tell you this, there's not very much room.
I bought the Renegade but it was too big and bulky for me to handle, being a female with a small car. Too much work. So I decided to keep the Escape and somehow make it work. There is more room behind the seat with the Renegade.
I haven't got that far with the motor mount, I work on it when I have time. And of course, every time I start to work on it I get more ideas about how to make it even better which doesn't speed up the process. I haven't put a TM on it yet so I don't know how that will affect it sitting and moving through the water. I definitely want to use a trolling motor plus I bought the upgraded oars when I want to exercise. I just don't want to be on a big lake and HAVE TO row.
I plan on using one or two smaller batteries, the size they use for golf carts. It's easier for me to carry and lift. That's what I did with my kayak. The batteries will sit on top of the rear part of the "tube" on top of the PVC and inside a low and open plastic rectangular box.
