Enjoying my week off and decided to give the Riverpark another try. Alvin and I hit the water at 4 and headed to our favorite deep hole and marked a ton of bait and fish but only caught 2 google eyes. Moved to the rip rap bank we have been fishing the past few weeks and I boat a nice 10 lb drum on a crank, get a little spot on the same crank, switch to the pig n jig and get a 7-8 lb blue about 3 feet off the rip rap and Alvin tags a crappie of all things.
Gave up and headed downtown to see if our cats were home. The water flow was very low which is about perfect for catching cats downtown. We pulled up to our spot and I get 3 blues in my first 3 casts. We ended up killing them for about 30 minutes and ended up with 21 blues boated tonight. We also tagged 4 more google eyes and two more small spots and Alvin got a redbreast on a big Sammy. The blues came on drop shot Gulp minnows as usual.
We ended our 3 hours of fishing with 21 blues, 3 spots, 6 google eyes, a crappie, a drum, and a redbreast. Not bad. Water temp was around 72 degrees.
Very nice evening on the water. The wind was not bad at all unlike yesterday.
