It's that treasured time of year when the 10" stock rainbow monstrosities that have been cooking in the hatcheries all year long get dumped into the Urban Ponds by the thousands.
- Stocking at the urban ponds will begin mid-November with weekly stocking until March. To give you a rough date, stocking began last year on November 9th.
- Unfortunately, trout are no longer stocked at Lake Mead or Lake Mojave beginning this year as of March ([url "http://www.ndow.org/about/news/pr/2011/march/trout%20stocking.shtm"]read about it at [/url][url "http://www.ndow.org/about/news/pr/2011/march/trout%20stocking.shtm"][/url][url "http://www.ndow.org/about/news/pr/2011/march/trout%20stocking.shtm"]here[/url]). Obviously, Willow Beach is the exception to this, still stocking every week.
- If you haven't already, buy your trout stamps! 10 bucks at Walmart, the Marina's, etc...If you haven't fished the Urban Ponds for trout yet, be aware that fish and game make multiple daily rounds to check licenses.
