I think the Ohio law is a botched attempt to separate the kick boats from the float tubes back in the early times.
Ask for a review of this law if you are comfortable they won't fix it by requiring ALL float tubes to be registered . [frown][unimpressed]
Here in the Peoples Republic of Illinois I have had game wardens try to call my outfitted float tube a "boat". So far I have been able to talk them out of persuing the issue by changing the subject.
The last time I was questioned, I asked the officer why they can build a new lake across the river in the free state of Iowa while the state of Illinois is trying to lock the sportsmen out of our public areas.
The Iowa DNR has never asked such foolish questions about my tube . As a side note- I have met 3 Illinois DNR officers fishing small lakes in Iowa. They like Iowa's mindset also.
