I have the hummingbird 525. It runs about 120$ and works fantastic. I fish the gorge for macs. Every fish I catch I watch swim up to my jigs. I am usually in 70 -100 feet of water. I have a lure in the bottom 5' and one mid depth. When a fish comes through I just reel or lower the closest jig to it and its fish on. I've had lots of 20+ mac pup days. I don't fish the areas where there are lots of big uns but I hook one every third trip or so. Never gotten one through the hole. I am always in my tent using a dink rod. The pups are sure a blast though. It doesn't have a gps unit though and that would probably be a must for anyone that is going to target the big boys.
