Ovid Creek - Contest Fish
#23
Jeremy,

Here is how I do it.

I zoom way in and us the scroll bars to line up the fish in both directions and see where the fish lines up with the tape. It becomes difficult in cases where the fish hangs over on the zero end of the tape to judge how much over hang there is. In this case, it lines up very well with zero. On the other end (zoom in, now) and line up with the end of the fish and see what you get. I get just under 17.5. We have a round down rule, so 17 inches. Agree with me or not, that fish cannot be scored at 18 because of the round down rule. I see 17. I have awarded more than has been asked for on at least a couple of occasions. I'm trying to be fair and objective. I think if you look at it as I've described, you may or may not agree to 17 or 17.5 but I don't think you have any argument for 18. It seems funny to me that the only complaints I've received so far are from non-competitors.

Competitors, please let me know if you feel I am not judging the fish in an appropriate manner.

Thanks.[Smile]
