I grew up in Boise and fished the river almost daily. My go to flies for that river would be...
1) Olive cone head wooly bugger (size 6-8)
2) Hare's ear (size 18-20)
3) San Juan Worm (size 10)
4) Zebra Midges (size 18-22)
5) Olive Elk Hair Caddis (size 14-18)
6) Parachute Adams (size 16-20
Those flies should catch you fish pretty much anywhere you go (generally speaking). The main Boise through town is a lot more of a nymphing river but I have had some great evenings there throwing caddis patterns. My favorite setup is a wooly bugger with a dropper (any of the other nymphs I mentioned). Gets rid of the need for all the split shot and makes the casting much easier. Good luck!
