The dams on the lower snake river do not produce much power. The main purpose for those dams are for the barges. I do understand that the runs of salmon and steelhead will never get back to what they use to be, but there should be change in the way things are run now. I do understand that taking out the dams would sacrifice jobs, but how many jobs did the dams sacrifice in the number of fish they kill? You can use that point either way very easily. My family has a farm and I do realize the importance to the agriculture industry. Railroad was put in to do the exact same thing the barges are doing. Like I said earlier throwing money at the problem doesnt work. Yes we might have some good years in relation to current runs, but in the big picture all runs are just slivers to what they used to be.
