I'm late to the party, but I have used furled leaders for a couple of years, and would never go back to a tapered mono. It was a pure bonus that FG had an extra on her the last time we went fishing together, and it has performed just as well - if not better - than any other I've ever owned. The best thing about them, in my opinion, is that I swap them out for new ones maybe once every year. I've gone 2+ years on the same leader before. I'd pay $30.00 for a good leader that didn't need to be replaced every couple of trips.
I'm not as pure as some of you, so I just use the same damn one for dries as well as nymphs. I've found that the flouro leaders are rough for dries, but I can make them work if I'm in a pinch.
