It is under $300 for rod and reel. Sadly there was a show price.

I was using an 8 wt for my Carp. I just got this rod Sat so I had to try it. I already had the reel. As for the 8 wt. I bought the Sage 230 grain line on sale at Sierra Trading post for $29. It is very short heavy head and cast fantastic. Even 4" streamers.

I use a 6' furled leader with 3 to 4 feet of tippet. I attach one fly to the end of the tippet and the other fly off at tag of maybe 12" tied about 3' up from bottom fly.
