Cast, cast and cast. Or troll.[img]../../../images/gforum/.gif[/img] They will hit such a wide variety of lures and presentations it really is just a matter of preference - you'll start to narrow down a pattern soon with some experimentation.
I wish there was more to it but Willard is such a featureless lake in terms of structure that for the most part they just cruise around and follow the food. Your best bet will be to move around until you find one. I don't find wiper fishing from shore particularly difficult but there are times of the year when you have to cast all day for a fish or two...and you'll have skunkings too.
Trolling is a pretty similar concept if you have a boat its a good way to cover a lot of water...but you can "wash" lures all day without getting hit too.
