[cool][#0000ff]Some hybrids do NOT even develop ovaries and testes...like the tiger trout. But it is a cross between two widely different species...a trout (brown) and a char (brookie). While some tigers have a more male-like appearance and some more female-like, neither develops eggs or milt. No spawning at all even though they go through seasonal color changes.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]White bass and stripers both belong to the same genus (Morone). They are very closely related so hybridizing is easy and there are great similarities of both parents in the offspring...including the development of eggs and milt and the instinctive spawning ritual. Their efforts are mostly ineffective, however, and very few eggs hatch...and almost none are strong enough to ever survive to adult status. Interestingly these hybrids can sometimes "backspawn" successfully with a parent of pure strain. Kinda like mules.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Mixed marriages in humans can be tricky too...like when a man marries a woman. Bad combination. Marriage is the leading cause of divorce.[/#0000ff]
