Fly Tying with Household Materials ^Pictures^
#27
Those jigs are 1/8 ounce, so a bit heavy for a fly rod. I do tie 1/64 and 1/80 though, which you can cast on a fly rod.

A few weeks back I was at Cottonwood at CJ and there was a guy there fly fishing. Everyone around him was catching crappie and bass, but he had only brought trout flies and the fish were ignoring him. Felt bad for the guy, so I gave him some of my tiny jigs and he started catching fish. The guy turned to me and said, "You know, I've got all these fly tying materials, but I just never got into it. Would you like to have them?" I wasn't expectinganything in return, but of course I said yes.

Long story short, he gave me a huge box of stuff in exchange for a few jigs. I can use most of it, but stuff like fly hooks, foam, wire and whatnot I have no use for. I was wondering what I was going to do with it, since it didn't seem right to sell the stuff I got for helping someone out.

TeenFisherman, I also live in the Boise area. If you want the stuff, you're more than welcome to it. Maybe we can arrange a meeting somewhere this weekend. PM me and wecan work something out.
