We ended up going to SFCR.... Due to information from someone who I hopefully will run into and return the many favors he gifted me with ( yes a phone call from a member here on the boards ) We were going to get up at our normal time for work anyways...4 a.m. ( me and the wife ) and go fishing at sfcr. so that is when things got a little derailed....I woke up early...about 3:45 and saw flashes outside, i thought just car lights going down the road ( we live kind of rural ) then as I was in the bathroom I was through the glass block window in the shower that the direction of the light was wrong for the road....yep...lightning..... so basically we did not rush, first time we had the boat out this year...messed aroudn at home, checked the weather.com site.....played games... ( closet internet nerd ) and then finally got out and got gas in the boat and truck and were on the road at 6:15ish...got to sfcr, after taking the scenic route through 1000 springs, bliss turnoff, then buhl....stopping at the great reststop that has been refinished and has clean and heated bathrooms past hagerman just before you get to the river. Okay, stopped and bought worms at the store at rogerson....sorry to hear the lady who ran the store for years if older and having health issues ( very sweet woman---her daughter is now running the store and cafe.....great place for womrs and groceries if you forgot anything, and she knows all....talks to all the fisherman/...runs the cafe from 5 a.m.-9 p.m. ) no I do not know her, but will frequent the cafe on the way home. caught some dink bass, mostly trolled for trout cause the wife likes them...I will post a pic of one of the trout we caught and the only 1 I let her keep...if I was smoking a bunch I would have taken more, but she just wanted one to eat....not a trout person myself, but it was a dandy and put up a great fight....hope the pic comes through.
I have an old berkley scale...... 3lb, 5 oz...after riding home in the livewell on the bass boat with sfcr water and a bag of cubed ice....he was still alive and swimming....tough fish. Tight lines to all.
