We made a short run North and started working some ledges first thing where we had marked a school earlier. Try as we might, they didn't want to play. We each caught a short fish and decided not to waste too much time there. Ran on upriver while it was still light and hauled water til dark. Decided we needed to find something and stick to it. Kept working deeper stuff with little luck, so we made the move shallow around 11.

Fished 2'-6' with plastics and blades for the rest of the night. I threw that blade til my arm was about to fall off. I looked down at the depth finder and had just told Hart "Man, it says 1.7 ..... We're too shallow. This ain't gonna..." BAM! He sets the hook and hauls in a nice 3.5 lber on a worm. Alright, maybe this will work. Made it another 40yds down the bank and BAM he sets the hook on another one. It dances it's way back towards us and just as I'm going to net it, she spit it out. Not a monster, but a very solid fish that surely would come back to haunt us.

I switched to a shaky after that one and caught our next and last keeper in about the same depth water. It was another good 3lb fish. So we could only muster up 2 fish for about 6.5lbs. Try as we might, never picked up another keeper. Hart hooked into another good fish at about 1:15 and broke him off within seconds. He was devastated. Not too long before that, I had set the hook on a toad. I knew it was a good one. Hollered for the net, water was splashin, all Hell was breaking loose. Got her in the net, switched on the LED lights, and........... I caught a damn 7lb catfish in 2' of water on a 10" worm. Talk about ticked off. It was pitch black and we were so shallow that it couldn't fight like a cat normally fights. Man I thought I had it Sad

Thought we had finally found something when we went shallow, but I think we were just a little bit late getting there and caught them as the bite was cooling off in there. Had only Hart been able to get that one fish to the boat... but she just opened her mouth and let it go...

Had a great time and Brian and Troy did a great job as usual! Man, what a wonderful night to be on the water!
