I am guessing your talking to me.
When I say on the (snake river) I mean there are cats on ALL of the snake river. I target places that bank fishermen can't get to .
I have fished from Swan Falls to Marsing, And from Nyssa to Mountain Man Resort . I have yet to find a spot where there are NO catfish. Have I been skunked YEP more times than I can count. The catfish move your right. But they are not like salmon. Guys are catching cats in brownlee right now and they are also catching them at Swan falls at the same time.
I spent years researching catfish in Idaho. I have spent tons of money to drive and look at the river. I live in the Twin Falls area so it is 150 to 240 mile trip to scout.
I got a program called Google earth I bet you got it too, and did some work from home. I can tell you that ALL of the snake river has cats. Actually good numbers of cats. All you have to do is go try. If you have a boat even better. Bank fishermen struggle to catch fish at times. The river is constantly changing. If you look at the flows you can see that where a guy catches fish one day might be dry the next.
Look for Brush, trees, and woody cover in the river. Also look for seams in the current and bridges. Look at the debris floating in the water where is it holding and spinning. The edge of that and the main current is where they will be. As they stage for spawn they will be tight against the shore even under brush. Temperature dictates spawn timing. Fish are feeding heavily right now getting ready for the spawn. They will hit bass plugs and other lures ask smartweed. Everyone uses worms. I don't like worms my self for cats. I tend to only catch small ones.
I am sorry that your nose is out of joint. But I am as friendly of a person you will ever meet. I don't mind helping and if you read my back posts I help a lot. Do I give exact GPS locations nope. Not to the public forum.
I have asked for plenty of help. I have asked water levels. I have asked for boat launch help. I have asked for dangers in the area I want to fish. I have never asked a man for his "spot".
You say you don't want anyone to give a "spot" But you want a guy to share a spot which is it?
Again I have caught cats in every place I have wet my hook from Swan Falls down to Brownlee. Some places are better than others but there are fish everywhere.
Sorry again if your nose is out of joint. Ron
