Marsing is a great spot. I caught tons of fish up stream to walters ferry last year on a float trip I did you can read about it and even see pictures and videos. If you have scouted the river at all you can see where I am in some of those pictures.
The islands, log jams, and stream inlets are the places to target if you have a boat. If you don't it might be tougher fishing. Up stream from where the Boise river dumps in to the border is a FANTASTIC spot. the water is a pinch warmer due to the Boise river, and owyhee being down stream. Now I am hot spotting. If anyone fishes these areas I am sorry.
The F&G have a location on their web site called tech research. Biologists write papers and add them to the site. You can go back and look at those papers. That is what I did. I went through them and did research. I have tons of them printed out and I take them when I go fishing for references.
You have to realize that I am in a pontoon boat. I drift most of the time for cats. I am targeting the most aggressive fish in the river. I float 5 to 10 miles a day. So for me to give a GPS way point to a spot I caught a fish would not do you much good.
I don't know one spot a guy can go soak a worm or a piece of cutbait on the bank and catch more than a couple fish in a day. I have tried it and I don't do well from the bank.
I have given you a couple of places to try. Where do I go to shoot a trophy mule deer? You can go ahead and post on this thread that will be fine. Ron
