Thanks [cool] I have always loved making and catching fish on stuff you can make yourself and its pretty neat to catch them on things that you consider so wild colored you would think it would never catch something.
You did we switched a couple years ago when we were getting skunked on many trips because the fish were holding 20 foot + down. I did a lot of research and my answer to the problem was a 7 foot ugly stick medium light okuma classic pro and 12 pound lead core with a 50 foot leader of 8 lb fluorocarbon. It will hold a full core and 50 yards of powerpro 30lb backing. You still feel the fish fight a lot and don't even feel like your using a lead core pole. A lot of times when your fishing a couple colors you can recover the lead core fast enough all of your fight is on the mono.

I was pretty proud of my daughter the other day she is 10 and her and i was fishing at minadoka and she asked soon as we got to out spot, how deep I told her and said i see fish at 17 feet she walked over to her pole and said 3 colors out to do it [laugh]
Hey a book is an idea i will be rich and famous beyond my dreams and fish will stand in line to get on my hook.
