Why is it trout or warm water fishing???
#26
I feel ya bass rods this state thinks its a cold water fishery.
Even though more than its fair share of waters are shallow mud holes or semi shallow lakes that if not planted heavy with bows wouldn't hold squat but warm water fish.

BUT Some how Idaho does just fine with its bass populations and they have very similar waters and they are primarily for irrigation too but the quality of fishing both for warm and cold water fishes are much better as a hole.

The real problem here is money and the quality of sportsmanship and there own practices in harvesting...
Utah will and will always cater to the vast majority of fisherman baiters and trollers. There primary target is trout so that's what we get..

IMO as long as the majority of Utah's fishermen are takers they will stock just that take home sized trout and any other fish that was not planted will be given a liberal bag limit amount..

This will be a growing issue because more and more individuals are becoming warm water anglers and that is a fact..
