Why is it trout or warm water fishing???
#39
Better for trout? BULL! The water in Utah's lakes get in the high 70's to low 80's. That BULL just don't fly.
More BULL, Yes the fish do have better spawning years then others. But trout have just as many if not more if YES IF the dwr did not PLANT then by the 1,000,000 each year in all the lakes. Yes BULL. I call it as I see It. Plant the other fish like the trout and they would not have the ups and down as well.
[#800000]Well – there you have it folks. The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth from the all knowing, all seeing, biology guru of Utah. I don’t know why all those wanna be biologists actually working for the State of Utah don’t just quit and find employment elsewhere. One thing’s for sure; there is an inordinate amount of bovine excrement being produced on this thread.[/#800000]
All of the states around the great lakes that are known for perch fishing have size limit and limits on the fish and even close some water for keeping of some types of fish from year to year or times of year.
[#800000]Like for instance Michigan; with a state wide limit of 50 per day and no size limit except these 3 exceptions. Lake Huron waters of Mackinac and Chippewa Cos. and the St. Marys R., the minimum size limit is 7”. Lake Michigan south of the 45th parallel (excluding the Grand Traverse Bays) the possession limit is 35 perch. And Lake Gogebic (Gogebic and Ontonagon Cos.): The daily possession limit for yellow perch is 25 with no more than five (5) yellow perch 12” or greater.[/#800000]
[#800000][/#800000]
[#800000]Yep, lots of perch management going on in Michigan. It must be driving those folks crazy.[/#800000]
[#800000][/#800000]
[#800000]Oh, and the possession limit in Michigan states that in addition to one (1) day’s daily possession limit of fish, a person may possess an additional two (2) daily possession limits of fish taken during previous fishing days provided that the additional limits of fish are processed (canned, cured by smoking or drying, or frozen).[/#800000]
