Going for the Gold
#37
How can I sleep at night? Quite well unless my back aches a bit. I wasn't attacking the twins at all, just the choice on naming a fragile water. I have enough experience in alpine fish and fisheries to have a fairly good judgement on what is or isn't negative impact. Brook trout on Boulder Mountain are what they are because of several factors. Fishermen keeping their numbers low is a factor that helps keep the population thinned and the fish size up. I only allowed names of lakes that weren't sensitive to angler pressure and could use a bit of harvest. Boulder top IS somewhat distant and difficult to get to, unlike Murdock Basin that is an hour and a half from downtown SLC.
True, golden trout are not native to the High Uintas. Neither are brook trout or grayling. In fact, none of the higher Uinta lakes had any trout in them, not even cutthroats. It's all man's hand. I guess we should just not care about it huh?
