We have had people over many times for a combo of perch, crappie, etc., and it seems that everyone loves all of them, and that if there is a favorite it is due more to the thickness of the fillet than the species. I personally don't think there is a nickel's worth of difference in the panfish. You are sure right about crappie 
. I now use the crappie nibbles more often, but they do go nuts over crappie . We discovered that years ago when we were bank fishing at Paddock Res. and were doing nothing, when a fellow came along and started hauling fish out about every minute. He showed us his "" secret, and boom, we couldn't fight off the crappie with a stick. Mike
