We started our day fishing shallow as the sun came up, we started with top waters and shakey head worms, caught a couple short fish right away so I figured if we ran through the same area again we might be able to get a keeper or two. At about 6:45 I got one on the shakey that I knew was between 4 and 5, the battery went dead in my hand helds so it was a guessing game all day. We stayed in that same area till almost 8:30 and had a limit that would have went about 9lbs. Moved to the next spot which was a shallow flat near deeper water and culled our smallest with a 2.5 which put us just under 10lbs. Moved one more time to another area that was very similar to the last and Clay got a 3.5 which culled us up about .75 and just after that he had one that would have went close to 4 and we lost it right at the boat. All fish were caught between 6 to 15 ft on shakey heads and 10 inch t-rigged worms. We threw cranks, spinners and top waters too but plastics were the ticket for us. We ended up with 10.67 I think and got 6th place, if we could have landed that last fish we lost I think it would have added between 1.25 and 1.5 to our weight, might have pushed Jmax outta 2nd. lol Smile Thanks to everyone involved in running the tx, we had a great time.
