Others can tell you better about Utah Lake, if that's where you're going. But generally - this time of year you might target shallows, warm water - work the reed edges.
I tend to look for inlets, outlets, pockets into the reeds or edges. Places that hold up minnows. Sometimes working the edges or the points can produce too.
There's a catfish contest, and entries are still open, if you're interested.
