I know very little about catfishing. However, I fished the river this morning above Marsing, and probably saw 50 or more cats. They were in water 1-3' deep in riffles. The bottom was gravel with grass patches. The river was quite low at 5990 cfs and 3.16' on the Murphy gage at 9:30. The bass were very aggressive, so I would image the cats were also.
I might mention I also ran around twice while drifting some riffles. My boat drifts at about 6-8" depending upon load and where I'm standing. Pushing it off those gravel bars is hard work for an 80 year old man.
