Down by the Riverside
#10
Just replying to the last reply. Thanks all for the kind feedback. It's fun to get "into em" once in a while. Had a few dinks, but most were footlong or better. No supertoads, except that one that got away.

True those bass don't take on the rich green colors of ones in say - Mantua. In retrospect - I think the first one pictured (not embedded - the dirty one) is a smallie. Had the red-eye, and browner mottled pattern. Think I had several smaller smallies, but the biggest ones were largemouths - as you knowledgable bassers have identified.

It was funny - I was reeling in a worm, and just dangling it over the shore-ledge, and wham - got one of the biggest - not two feet off the bank! Beast!
All sharing the same area.

And Skunked - you know it well. I think I need to try a night trip there WITH bugspray!
Saw numerous "boils" as panicked widdle fish got swooped along the shore. I was just hoping some of the predators might be of the toothy sort ... didn't find any gills or sunfish, and only a half dozen Crappie. Couldn't keep the bass off! Maybe if I'd downsized might select more crappie. Pull out the ice jigs and the glow?
