I've spent a lot of time afield with moose, especially in Alaska, and have a pretty good idea when they're getting squirly. These guys were on the trail and were not leaving anytime soon. After watching them for over 20 minutes, I could tell they more interested in salad than us. Consequently, we picked our spot, made our way past them, and got some great pictures of the encounter.
I know that wild animals are just that, but it is what it is. Everytime we are afield, we take chances but hopefully they're calculated and you do your best with what you're dealt. Had it been a cow and calf, our actions would have been much different.
