Pelican Lake
#2
From my experience you shouldn't have a problem launching. Bugs are going to be bad so a head net is a must have (and bug spray). A little breeze makes all the difference in the world for the bugs. Reeds are going to be thick by now. You will have no problem catching dinks along the edges with the possibility of a good one here and there. Look for the channels that cut back in the reeds and fish every little hole you can find. You've got the shallow drafting boat, if the tm can braaap! through the junk fish the open pockets with a frog (Spro are the best in my opinion as far as weedless goes). Jigs and tubes in every pocket no matter how small.
Last time I was there the water was much more clear back in the reeds and the fishing was better. Not sure about water levels right now. If the moss piles are growing in the middle of the lake don't pass them by...
