What a night!? But "Team Grumpy 'ol Men" some how was able to hang on for a win! Jerry and I took off to a shallow grass flat first thing. I was throwing a Spook and had three keepers by 8:30 pm. Two were about 3 to 3 1/2 lbs. The other about 2 1/2. I lost a good 4 lber. that we saw. She just jumped up out of the water and spit out that mouth full of trebles? Had a good blow up on a Ribbit frog but missed her. Then the storm hit so we camped out in a near by boat house for a while and I did some serious damage to some Viennia Sausages and a bag of Jack's Links while I watched the light show. Went back out and caught a about five fish on a Spinnerbait that would not cull anything. Finally I hooked into another 4 to 4 1/2 lb. fish. but she jumped and was gone!? Caught another small fish on the blade. Our Team wasn't felling real perky by then. All I could think of was loosing those two fish. Then right at 1:30 am I got the 6.85 on the blade. We culled the smallest and decided to head for the ramp. We were lucky enough to get a win. See ya'll on Sept. 8th!
