you guys got lucky , I had a gar grab hold of a 12 inch bass I was reeling in, if he had grabbed another 6 inches forward, well lets just say he would have broken my 8 pound test line.....

would have been nice to think I could have brought him in. killed the little bass though. two nasty gashes in the side 1 1/2 inch apart about 2 inches long and 1/2 inch deap. bout jerked the pole right out of my hand.

he didnt want the gill I put out for him, he wanted the bass I was reeling in on another line.
