Bear Lake Westside 12-7-12

[cool][#0000ff]Timing and luck are a big part of most fishing. The whitefish are no exception. They may be ripe and ready to spawn but they got their 'druthers when it comes to ideal spawning conditions. And they turn off and on whenever they dang well feel like it. And not all of them are females neither...even if the ladies DO kinda direct the action. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The fish move up and down the shorelines and in and out from shallow to deeper. They are restless and seldom stay put in one place very long. They also might go from cold to hot (bite) on a moment's notice...or vice versa. Not unusual to go a long time between bites and then have doubles in the boat for several minutes.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Fishing from shore can be very productive. Lots of whitie fans do quite well around the lake...when they hit the right spot at the right time. Ay, there's the rub...or brine. How do you know? You don't. But a whole lotta trips will at least help you learn enough to guess right at least some of the time.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Music? Mantovani for whitefish. They got no class. Didn't even hit the on button. Just muddled through with the sounds of the breezes blowing through the treeses...and hum of the line in a perfect storm.[/#0000ff]
