got an early start at daylight, and that turned out to be a good thing. we caught our two best fish in the early morning, a smallmouth at 3-11 and a 2-6 spot. after that things got really tough for us. we picked up a slick here and there, and a drum -- the typical RP mix. after a full day of standing and chucking and winding, we decided to sit down and slow down and peck around for crappie and bream. we caught a few and had fun. our morning bass came on jerkbaits. the water was up and running. the temp was 50 degrees.
