Well I took advantage of a holiday off from work. Temp was +7 at 9am when I started the hike out to the rockpile. Several others were well ahead of me, but not to worry there are pleny of fish for everyone to catch. Ice is not about 4 - 4.5" thick. It grew about 1.5-2" in two days of cold weather. Very foggy once again, but hey, you can breathe this fog. Its not the SMOG down along the front!! I chose to fish deeper, but I could have stopped on the rockpile to jig a limit of cisco. Instead I dropped down a hole, jigged about 3 times and caught one cisco to use for bait. Then it was out to 60' again. I moved several times during the day, but never went deeper than 70'. Caught several nice fish and didn't keep count. I only took a few pics so here they are. They are all still swimming for someone else to catch. I also saw several lake trout caught today, but I did not catch any. Also, I saw a lot of whitefish being caught and a few that were snagged by those jigging for cisco. Make sure to release the foul-hooked whitefish or risk a ticket! Used a jigging spoon and red/white tube jig. Both produced fish. Fished until 1:30 and called it a day. By then the fog was just barely beginning to lift. I saw blue sky all afternoon.
