On a clear moonlit fall night ill cast until my arm falls off for big walleye. When I'm feeling lazy I troll in my boat on any sunny day for rainbows. I've pulled in 130 smallmouth on a warm sunny day. There are few days a year when I target brown trout. I go before or after the lakes freeze and I make sure it's the coldest, windiest, snowiest day there is. I'm standing on shore casting into the wind so it is absolutely miserable conditions but I wouldn't do it if the fish weren't worth it. It's not uncommon for us to pull in quite a few 20+ inch browns making the nastiest weather days my best fishing days.
