nils hand augers

I owned the 6 inch nils for probably 4 years and compared to other hand augers it was way better, but if you are thinking of it compared to a power auger then get a power auger. Even with the nils, cutting holes by hand sucks, especially if you move around at all or the ice is thick. I now run the 8 inch nils power auger and I would never go back to drilling by hand. I would say even if you can only afford a low budget power auger it is still better than cutting by hand.
