I think Shakepear (sp) wrote a play "Much Ado About Nothing". There's gotta be at least ten thousand times the amount of oil washed off the surface of the highway running past Strawberry that vehicles dripped there by rain and snowmelt than the few squirts of WD40 used by anglers. I personally don't use the stuff but if we're gonna get pissy about something, let's do it over something real!
So it is okay if I drop a few beer bottles in Utah Lake? I mean, it's a giant lake and beer bottles are basically harmless to the environment.
If it can handle a few beer bottles, why not 50? Or 200?
Dropping 1 piece of trash in a lake is wrong, and I am obviously of the belief squirting 1 spray of WD-40 is too. I guess some people like to blur what is right and wrong...depending on how big the impact is.
Besides it's not like I started this thread, or insist on everyone calling the EPA when they see someone using WD-40. I simply think calling people out for doing wrong when I see it is good enough.
The scary thing is if people are dumb enough to use WD-40 for fishing, what else will they slop all over their lures? I seriously wonder if a lot of the push back when this topic comes up - comes from die hard WD-40 users. I don't know why else you would scoff at this issue.
