This is a subject that I know something about, After fishing the western bass circuts for years and watching the top pros,,no i aint one there are a few things about mono and fluro that i didnot know. flour does have some streach to it but way less than mono thats why u should use a rod with a softer action,,helps stop break offs on the hookset flouro asorbs uv light mono reflects it,thats why it is almost invisable underwater mono floats fluro sinks..dont use flouro with a topwater it wont work,as I said before fluro absorbs uv light DONT LEAVE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT!! it will go south on you in a few hours, did that myself 100percent flouro is just that. any thing else is mono with a coating dont wast your money.and one more thing that i learned while donating the pros,, lubricate the knot really well and pull it tight slow no jerks then it wont cut into itself it has no silicone on it like mono does to help it slide
Hi zman, first understand, no disrespect here at all. I do fish topwater for bass, not professionally[
] but I do pretty well. Again, I use fluoro all the time. Fluoro does NOT sink like a brick, it is actually quite slow sinking.
I and wondering about your comment about sunlight and Fluoro going south. I am not familiar with sunlight effecting fluoro at all. As I said, it has no shelf life and as in the reports, it takes hundreds of years to disintegrate. What do you mean by go south?
Thanks
FG
