Do not take it that way. i was running out of info trying to justify a new way of using the bands on DR's.
I was hoping to convince some of the old time DR's there was another way to fish. Plus some thought the rubber bands tripped the fish loose as soon as it was hooked. i was trying to explain that was not the case.
Plus I wnated folks to understand the tension provided by the bands was not hit and miss. These bands have fairly good quaility control on them and they were fairly consistent. I did fail to mentionthat due the UV and temps over the summer and winter I start out each year with new bands.
My Boat is garaged and heated year round.
Sorry i didn't mean it to come across that way.
I also use red Gamakatsu octpuss hooks. I have found when using bait it is hard to beat this hook.
